More Alive

I am somehow more alive when I am serving the Lord. When I am not serving Him I am a spiritual dud. When I am serving Him I am invigorated and energetic. After I have served the Lord I am comfortably and peacefully tired. I am satisfied. I rest better. I sleep better. When I am not serving Him I get tired sooner. When I have been lazy or shirked some task the Lord gave me, my tiredness is not peaceful. I am unsatisfied. I am unable to rest or sleep well. The reason for these things is that when I am obeying Him, the power of God is working in me and strengthening me. We always have enough strength to do what He wants us to do. He knows when we are weak and He knows our strengths. He never asks us to anything that we cannot do. When we are serving the Lord, we are carried along by His power, not our own.

Philippians 2:13: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Isaiah 41:10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

2 Timothy 1:7: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Micah 3:8: But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Serving Him is sometimes a public thing of serving others and sometimes it is a private thing, just serving Him alone with no third party present or involved.

1 John 1:3: That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

What an unspeakable privilege it is to have fellowship with God, serve Him, be blessed by Him, be energized by Him, be used by Him and be more alive.

John 10:10b: . . . I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
